LAUNCH OF THE INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL FILOZOFSKI SAVJETNIK
I am pleased to share the launch of the new international peer-reviewed scientific journal Filozofski savjetnik, in whose work I participate as a member of the editorial board.
The journal is dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary dialogue between the humanities and the biomedical sciences, with a particular focus on the theoretical and practical connections between philosophy and mental health. Its aim is to provide an academic platform for research in philosophical practice, philosophy of psychotherapy, phenomenology of psychopathology, and the medical humanities.
The thematic scope of the journal encompasses methodologies and ethical frameworks of philosophical practice, the ontological and epistemological foundations of psychotherapeutic and psychiatric models, the phenomenological study of lived experiences of mental difficulties, as well as the integration of philosophical, social, and cultural perspectives into medical theory and practice.
In addition to standard scholarly articles, the journal introduces innovative sections such as Logopis – a space dedicated to philosophical travel writing, an art section devoted to visual contributions and philosophical comics, as well as the section Philosophy of Philosophy, with a special emphasis on metaphilosophical research.
The journal brings together distinguished scholars and practitioners in philosophy, psychiatry, and psychotherapy from different parts of the world, including Thomas Fuchs, Elliot Cohen, Lydia Amir, Eva Dolar Bahovec, Miro Jakovljević, Joost van Loon, Milan Popov, and many other collaborators from Europe and the United States, confirming its international character and significance in the contemporary academic landscape. Special recognition for the initiation and development of the journal is due to Luka Janeš, whose engagement played a key role in its establishment and growth.
Participation in the editorial work of this journal represents an important step in the further development of philosophical practice and its connection with contemporary theoretical and clinical research.
Such projects have a broader aim: to bring philosophy beyond the confines of academia and to restore the place it rightfully deserves in the public sphere and in the everyday life of contemporary society.
