1ST PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE OF INTERACTIVE PSYCHOANALYSTS, NOVI SAD
DIGITAL YOUTH CENTER OF THE CITY LIBRARY
TOPIC: PHILOSOPHY OF PSYCHOANALYSIS
The Institute for Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Studies in Novi Sad, in collaboration with the Digital Youth Center of the City Library in Novi Sad, organized a professional conference on October 10, 2022, on the topic: „Philosophy of Psychoanalysis – An Introduction to Interactive Psychoanalysis“.
During the conference, philosopher Dr. Milan Popov, in addition to discussing the basic theoretical implications and the importance of interdisciplinarity for the further development of social and humanities sciences, emphasized that wherever a problem cannot be solved through scientific knowledge, such as therapeutic nihilism, it is necessary to engage philosophical thought to provide the right path and platform for scientific progress.
Prof. Popov also reflected on the practical aspects of understanding interactive psychoanalysis as a form of philosophical practice, sharing examples of experiences with analyzands who exhibit irregular forms of thinking, such as paranoia and schizoid fantasy.
Next, philosopher Mr. Aleksandar Krstić spoke about existentialism and existential psychotherapy as a form of psychotherapy, highlighting the necessity of philosophical education for quality psychotherapeutic work. Psychologist and Master of Psychotherapy Nebojša Maksimović explained to the audience the importance and need for a structural understanding of psychotherapy, as well as the risks of psychotherapists prematurely venturing into philosophical scientific fields.
After a break, graduate philosopher Alenka Sančanin presented a topic on psychopathology and applied logic, using Jaspers' systematic approach to psychopathology to provide an overview and emphasize the significance of understanding logical forms and irregularities in logical thinking, which is crucial for psychotherapists working with analyzands.
In his presentation on interactive psychoanalysis, graduate philosopher Igor Grujičić clearly defined the connection between interactive psychoanalysis and Freud's classical psychoanalytic theory, focusing on concepts such as transference, countertransference, working alliance, and insight.
One of the interesting presentations was by Lazar Bogunović, a fourth-year philosophy student, who, using the term "event horizon," created a structural division in the theoretical and practical understanding of interactive psychoanalysis.
